The most famous name in Hyderabadi biryani. Consistent, flavourful, and always packed. Mutton biryani: \u20b9250\u2013350. Chicken: \u20b9200\u2013300. UPI accepted.<\/p><p><strong>Bawarchi<\/strong> \u2014 RTC Cross Roads. The locals&#8217; favourite \u2014 many argue it beats Paradise. The mutton biryani is exceptional. \u20b9200\u2013300. Always a queue at peak times. UPI accepted.<\/p><p><strong>Shah Ghouse<\/strong> \u2014 Tolichowki. Famous for late-night biryani and haleem. Open until 3 AM. This is where Hyderabadis go after midnight. \u20b9200\u2013350. UPI and cash.<\/p><p><strong>Caf\u00e9 Bahar<\/strong> \u2014 Basheerbagh. No-frills, packed with locals, and the biryani is outstanding. Also famous for its osmania biscuits. \u20b9180\u2013300. Cash and UPI.<\/p><h2>\u00a0<\/h2><h2>Irani Chai &amp; Osmania Biscuits<\/h2><p>Hyderabad&#8217;s Irani cafes are a unique institution \u2014 brought by Persian immigrants in the early 20th century, they serve thick, sweet chai in glass cups alongside crumbly Osmania biscuits. The combination is addictive.<\/p><p><strong>Nimrah Caf\u00e9<\/strong> \u2014 Directly opposite Charminar. The most famous Irani cafe. Chai + biscuits for \u20b940\u201360. Go at dawn when the Charminar is quiet and the chai is fresh. Cash or UPI.<\/p><p><strong>Caf\u00e9 Niloufer<\/strong> \u2014 Lakdikapul. More modern, equally legendary. The bun maska (buttered bun with chai) is the Hyderabadi breakfast. \u20b950\u201380. UPI accepted.<\/p><h2>\u00a0<\/h2><h2>Beyond Biryani: Hyderabadi Specialties<\/h2><p><strong>Haleem<\/strong> \u2014 A slow-cooked meat and wheat stew, especially famous during Ramadan. Pista House and Shah Ghouse are the standard-bearers. \u20b9150\u2013250.<\/p><p><strong>Lukhmi<\/strong> \u2014 Hyderabad&#8217;s version of a savoury pastry, stuffed with minced meat.
